A friend of mine, expat from California, introduced me to a great
restaurant in Barcelona called VINO TINTO (corner of Calle Consell
de Cent and Aribau). You´ll see the sign and a wooden barrell
outside as decoration.
When I first walked in, I saw a bar at the entrance. Behind the
wall was an array of wines from La Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Valladolid,
Catalunya. I looked at the Wine Menu and the prices were reasonable
to expensive. Because the restaurant is becoming very popular, the
bar is a great way to order a glass of wine while you wait for a
table. Once there´s an available table, the waiter walks you
down the hallway. Tip, take a quick stop to look at an authentic
stone oven used to cook the variety of meats they offer on their
menu. it gives the meat dishes a superior flavor. You won´t
be disappointed with their steaks or selection of tapas.
Most importantly, the customer service is really good. The waiters
are fast and efficient as well as smile. Santi, is the public relations
director of Vino Tinto and does a great job at making you feel at
home. If in town for business or pleasure, I give Vino Tinto a thumbs
up. It´s walking distance from our Gaudi, Dali, Picasso apartments,
located off Paseig de Gracia
